Troubleshooting

If these steps don't help you and any problems occur with your METARMAP, please let us know. Only this way can we fix these errors through a software update and make them available to all users. Feel free to write us an email at hi@metarmap.eu at any time or use the contact form.
This manual is obsolete because the entire process has been revised. METARMAPs can now be set up and customized much more conveniently thanks to METARMAP Connect. Please use the current version of the manual if you purchased your METARMAP after 2025.

Software Update

You can download a software update for your METARMAP via the web interface. Use the Update tab and choose main as the source, unless otherwise agreed with support.

Reset to Factory Settings

You can reset your METARMAP to factory settings at any time by holding the hidden button for at least 15 seconds. When your METARMAP starts to light up, the loading of factory settings is completed.

Restart Your METARMAP

You can restart your METARMAP by removing the power adapter so that it has no power. Now wait at least 40 seconds before powering your METARMAP again. When your METARMAP starts to light up, the restart is completed.

Your METARMAP Lights Up Red

If your METARMAP lights up red, an error occurred during the update or when loading factory settings. First wait at least five minutes to see if the METARMAP continues with normal operation. If nothing changes after five minutes, try restarting your METARMAP and wait at least five minutes for your METARMAP to resume normal operation. If nothing happens, try loading factory settings again or downloading a software update via the web interface.

Your METARMAP Lights Up Yellow

A yellow light on your METARMAP means that an error occurred during normal operation. Most likely, the weather data could not be queried from the server. First try restarting your METARMAP. If the error persists, your METARMAP might be outside the range of your Wi-Fi or your Wi-Fi connection might be too slow. Try moving your METARMAP closer to your router and then perform a restart.

Your METARMAP Lights Up Blue

If your METARMAP lights up blue, an error occurred with the web interface for settings. Usually, your METARMAP should continue with normal operation within five minutes anyway. If not, try adjusting your settings again and possibly perform a restart of your METARMAP.

Your METARMAP Lights Up But Nothing Happens

If your METARMAP lights up in GAFOR or American colors, but e.g., the Wind legend doesn't blink, then check if the METAR-WLAN is active. If the METAR-WLAN is in range of an internet-capable device (e.g., smartphone), then the Wi-Fi data entered on the web interface for your Wi-Fi at your METARMAP's location is incorrect.
