Button Functions

Here is described what functions the hidden button on the underside of your METARMAP contains. It has two functions, depending on whether you press it briefly or hold it for at least 15 seconds.
This manual is obsolete because the entire process has been revised. METARMAPs can now be set up and customized much more conveniently thanks to METARMAP Connect. Please use the current version of the manual if you purchased your METARMAP after 2025.

Brief Press (~1 second)

If you press the button for about one second, the METAR-WLAN of your METARMAP will become active and you can connect to this Wi-Fi as described here. This is necessary so that you can access the web interface for your METARMAP settings at any time. The METAR-WLAN will also become active if your METARMAP cannot connect to your Wi-Fi or if no known Wi-Fi is in range. Therefore, it is mandatory that you enter the access credentials for your Wi-Fi at your METARMAP's location on the web interface, see the following instructions.

Long Hold (>15 seconds)

When holding the button for at least 15 seconds, the system will be reset to factory settings. This is a useful function if something doesn't work as expected. When your METARMAP starts to light up, the loading of factory settings is successfully completed. Your settings remain intact, everything else is reset to the original state.

Warning: A reset to factory settings cannot be undone.
