Settings

Here you will learn how the setting points of the web interface affect your METARMAP. With this knowledge, you can set up your METARMAP the way you like it best. If you want to know how to access the web interface, then follow the steps here.
This manual is obsolete because the entire process has been revised. METARMAPs can now be set up and customized much more conveniently thanks to METARMAP Connect. Please use the current version of the manual if you purchased your METARMAP after 2025.

Tab - Wi-Fi

Under this tab, the Wi-Fi credentials of your Wi-Fi at your METARMAP's location are entered. Your METARMAP must be within range of this Wi-Fi so that the latest weather data can be queried via the internet. Under the Name (SSID) point, you must enter the name of your Wi-Fi (e.g., FRITZ!Box 7590) and in the Password field, enter the password belonging to the Wi-Fi. If you have entered no or incorrect credentials, your METARMAP will not work. Instead, the METAR-WLAN will become active again and you must adjust the Wi-Fi settings again.

Tab - Version

Here you can set whether you have your METARMAP with the GAFOR legend or the American legend. By choosing the version, the setting options in the Colors and Wind tabs are adjusted accordingly.

Tab - Colors

Using this setting option, you can adjust all colors for the different weather categories. The brightness is regulated via the slider, where 1 is the maximum and 0.1 is the minimum brightness. For the colors of the weather categories, you can also set the color for wind. Then the corresponding LED blinks in the base color and the set wind color.

Tab - Wind

Under this tab, you can set the threshold values for the wind animations and the frequency of blinking. By default, the LEDs blink every second for the respective wind category. Once the wind speed for Wind or high wind is exceeded, the LED blinks in its base color and the set color in the Colors tab.

Tab - Times

So that your METARMAP doesn't light up all night, you can set the automatic on and off times here. Simply select the time in 24-hour format (e.g., 2 = 2 AM, 14 = 2 PM), where the on time must be strictly less than the off time. You also have the option to let your METARMAP light up permanently. Simply check the Continuous operation checkbox for this.

Tab - Airports

In this list you will find all airports that are illuminated in your METARMAP. If you don't want an airport to be displayed, you can replace the respective entry in the list with NULL. This way, no weather data is queried for this airport and it remains unlit. Changing this setting point can lead to unexpected behavior. If you insert a line break in the list, for example, all airports will be shifted one entry backward. This may result in fewer airports being displayed and in the wrong location on your METARMAP.

Tab - Update

Here you can choose whether you want to update the software of your METARMAP. Your settings remain intact, it only searches for a current version and installs it on the system. You can choose between main, dev, and hotfix as the update source. Unless otherwise agreed with support, choose main as the source. The other sources are for experimental features and development versions.

Button - Reset Settings

By clicking this button, you reset your changes to all settings to the value from when the web interface was loaded.

Button - Reset Settings to Default Values

This button allows you to reset all web interface settings except your configured Wi-Fi to factory settings.

Button - Save and Restart

After you have configured your METARMAP the way you like it, you can start your METARMAP with the changed settings with a click on this button. If your entered Wi-Fi is correct, normal operation will begin.
