Supported Browsers

Unfortunately, not all modern browsers support the necessary Bluetooth interface. Firefox and Safari are particularly affected, so mobile iOS devices are not supported. The following browsers are supported:

Workaround for Apple iPhone

Safari does not allow websites to access the device's Bluetooth functionality. For this reason, another browser must be used. We recommend Bluefy, as it is specifically developed for Bluetooth usage.

We are aware that this is not the best solution. The alternative would be to develop a native app that could then be downloaded from the App Store. However, this would mean that Android users would also have to download an app. We believe there are already more than enough apps for all sorts of things and would like to avoid adding another one. Especially since you will probably only need to set up your METARMAP once and will not need the app afterwards.

With the current solution, you can set up your METARMAP directly via the browser, and most users do not even need to download an app. If you only have an iPhone and no way to use another browser, then you will unfortunately have to download the Bluefy browser.

We hope that Apple will provide the necessary interfaces in the future so that Safari can also use Bluetooth functions. We apologize for the inconvenience.
